Shelter Tours
Want to Take a Shelter Tour?
Tours begin in our auditorium, where a Humane Educator provides an overview of the shelter and information on responsible pet ownership.
After the presentation, the educator takes the group through the shelter for an up-close look at the ongoing work of sheltering and caring for the homeless animals in our community.
Your group will see and learn about all aspects of our facility, including:
- Customer service
- Intake procedures
- Animal care and housing
- Shelter clinic and grooming
- Get acquainted visits
- Adoption interviews
- Field officer work
- Animal Services vehicles*
After the tour, the group returns to the auditorium for a chance to talk
about what they have learned, ask questions, and meet one of the shelter
education pets.
Shelter tours last about one hour, can accommodate up to 25 people,
and are available to children six and older.
* Weather and availability permitting
